Finish 13 By Halloween

Hello lovelies! So I decided that I would take part in yet another seasonal project pan that is currently going on and that is Finish 13 by Halloween! There are quite a few products to get through so I'll just get right into it.

Mac Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium. As soon as I finish the powder in my Finish 5 By Fall project I believe I can get through this pretty quickly. Especially if I use it as a foundation which is how I was using it before it got pushed to the back of my drawer.
Mac Studio Finish concealer in NW25. This is dark for me so I have to use it underneath foundation and I don't like it as much as when I got it. This is another on that will have to wait until I finish the concealers in my other project though.
Yaby Natural Finish Liquid Foundation in Buff. I think I got this from Ipsy. It has been in my collection for too long and I just don't want it taking up space anymore. I have used it a couple times and I don't think I will purchase a full one when I finish it off.
Garnier BB Cream in Light/Medium. This is the one for combination - oily skin and I love this. It has really good coverage for a BB cream. I will repurchase this when I run out of this because it is the only thing that looks good on my skin. I think they reformulated it but I hope my skin will agree with the new one as much as it does with this.
Pix! Flawless Beauty Primer. I love this for making my skin have a natural glow to it. I don't know that it actually makes my makeup last any longer though. I would consider buying a full size when I run out of this one.
e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer. This is the original one in Blush/Bronze. I have had this in my collection for a really long time and I want to get some more use out of it. I don't know that I would buy this specfic one again but I already got my hands on the cream one and I love that. My goal is to at least hit pan on this not necessarily finish it off. If I could finish it that would be great though! I'm counting each of these as one by the way.

Rimmel Scandaleyes in 001 Black. I use this to tightline everyday so I'm not too worried about getting through this. It transfers to my waterline so I don't know that I would repurcahse this specific color again.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and Barely Branded. I want to hit pan on the bronze one because I have had this forever but I feel like I can't make it through this product. I want to completely finsih off Barely Branded or make a bigger area of pan. I will be repurchasing both of these when they are finished because they make the best bases!
Salon Perfect Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe. I bought this at Walmart because it was cheap and I needed something to practice filling in my brows with that wasn't too expensive and now it is just taking up space. It shouldn't take too long to get through this because of how much sharpening it takes.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. This shouldn't be too hard to get through and I needed another product. Also, like I said when I added my other Baby Lips in Finish 5 by Fall, I just need to get these out of my collection.
Almay Liquid Lipbalm in Blooming. I don't think it will take me too long to get through this. It is only lightly tinted so it makes a great topper to just about any lip color. It makes my lips pretty soft but I don't know that I would be repurchasing because it has sat in my collection for too long.

So there you have it! It is a lot of product, but I'm excited to tackle the challenge. These are all things that have been in my collection for too long and I just want to use them before they go bad. If you are taking part in any project pan I would love to keep up with your progress so leave a link down below. I've been obsessed with watching them on youtube lately, it has gotten me motivated to use what I have! I will be posting updates at the end of each month.

July Ipsy

Hello lovely readers, I haven't posted an Ipsy unboxing in a really long time....since October of 2013....well I haven't stopped getting them I was just being a bad blogger for a while there. Anyway, I usually like what I get in my bags well enough, but this month had me excited enough that I wanted to share it with you all.

You can see that the bag is really cute and the theme is Summer Lovin'.

1. Tarte Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer in Park Avenue Princess. This bronzer has a cult following and now I know why! Was super excited to get this and if it looks as good on my face as it swatched on the back of my hand I would definitely consider purcahsing a full size.

2. Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvinator. Love getting exfoliator samples and this one smells amazing! Probably because it has papaya in it.

3. Be a Bombshell Cosmetics lip balm in french kiss. This is a nice lip balm. I like that this isn't tinted at all and it is just a normal chapstick because I was a little worried when I seen the pink.

4. OFRA Eyeshadow and Highlighter in Bliss. This is one of the prettiest pinky champagne colors that I now own. The packaging it came in is so cheap, but I can just place the pan, which I'm pretty sure is full size, in my everyday palette.

5. Octavio La Playa sea salt spray. Now that I have done the keratin treatment to my hair I find it kind of hard to curl my hair without the curls falling out so I'm excited to see if this will give it more texture and volume like it claims. Also, huge bonus that it doesn't smell like coconuts because I do not like that smell.

As excited I am about all of the products I got this month, these 2 were definitely the standouts. I love highlighting my face....can get borderline discoball when I get carried away at time...so of course I like the highlight and then there is the Tarte bronzer in here. I squealed a little when I saw this because 1. the packaging is so freakin cute and 2. because there is so much hype around this bronzer and how it is perfect for more fair skin.

So there is my really exciting July Ipsy bag. Are you subscribed? What did you get this month?

If you don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription that is $10 and you get 4-5 deluxe sample items that ranges from makeup to hair care to skin care. I really enjoy getting it and I have been getting it for about 2 years now. You can sign up here: https://www.ipsy.com/new?refer=6iih

Project 10 Pan Fail...Intro to a New Project?

Hello lovelies, as you can tell from the title of this post I have failed at my Project 10 Pan. In my most recent empties you will have seen that I finished the 2 mascaras that I wanted to use, so it wasn't a complete bust of a project. When I say fail I mean that I think I just wasn't going about the whole thing correctly. I started watching PrettyPistol86 on youtube and she is the Project Pan queen in my opinion. So I am going to start a new project based on how she does hers.

This time it will be one of those seasonal challenges: Finish 5 by Fall.

I will choose 6 products (1 will be a safety net in case I can't finish one of the original 5) and will only have 3 months to finish them. This will hopefully make me feel like I need to finish them and that I actually will.

1. Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder: I, like many others, enjoy using this powder, but the packaging on mine is broken and I already hit pan on thi so if I use it exclusively I will be able to finish it within the next 3 months I think. I have a backup waiting to be used!

2. Rimmel Scandeleyes in Nude. This is my favorite liner for my waterline and I use it just about every day, however I have had this for so long and I'm kind of worried that I won't actually be able to finish it. I will be marking my progress on the piece of paper that you see in the photo.

3. Mary Kay eyeliner in black. This is not my favorite eyeliner and it has been in my collection for way too long so I just want to finish it off. I have a lot less of it than the nude eyeliner so if I use it to tightline I should be able to finish it.

4. Maybelline Fit Me concealer in sand. I don't have too much of this left and I use this as my face concealer so I'm hoping that it won't take too long to finish off. I have a backup of this in my makeup bag in my purse. Will definitely be repurchasing when I finish off a few other concealers.

5. Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in fair. I don't have too much of this left either as you can see from the starting line on the container. I use this to highlight my face and underneath my eyes. I probably won't be repurchasing after I finish because it has some sparkles in it and when my concealer fades the sparkles are left behind.

6. Maybelline Baby Lips in Coral Crush. I have way too many of these and it is time I start moving them out of my collection. This one is a nice one for summer so it shouldn't be too hard for me to get through.

So there are my 5 products and my one freebee. I think 3 months will be long enough for me to finish the powder and the 2 concealers. I'm a little worried about the 2 liners. My goal is to finish at least 4 of these to make it a successful project. Let me know if any of you are trying to complete a project, I have been really into them lately and like to see progress it is motivating for me. I will be doing monthly updates from now on the 23rd of each month.

Here is a new picture of my Stay Matte powder because I had to repress it. Also it will be easier to see my progress now.

Empties #2 Hits and Misses

Hello lovelies! I have another empties post for you all. This is a big one with some products that I would repurchase and some that I just won't bother with again. Lets get started!

First I have some skin care.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash: I have already repurchased this. It has quickly become one of my favorite cleansers. I don't have acne prone skin, but I do get breakouts every once in a while and I found that this really works to keep it all at bay.
Garnier Clean+ Makeup Remover Lotion Cleanser: I decided to give this a try when I couldn't find the Misceller Water by the same line. I don't think I will be repurchasing this again until the winter months when my skin is a bit dryer. I liked using it right before my shower because the couple of times I tried it with just a quick rinse I felt that it left my skin feeling like there was a layer on top of it. It didn't completely get rid of my makeup, so that was also a downside. Overall, too creamy and heavy for my normal/combo skin.
Beauty Without Cruelty Daily Facial Cleanser: I really enjoyed using this cleanser. I got it in an Ipsy bag one month and I am happy that I got to try it. I enjoy any cleaner that cleans my skin without stripping it completely and it didn't cause any breakouts on my sensitive skin. Will definitely purchasing a full size once I am done with the Neutrogena one I'm using now.

Next you will see that I have gone through quite a bit of mascaras.
Revlon Lash Potion- I hated this and will definitely never repurchase again. As amazing as it looked when I first put it on, within the next hour I would find little flakes on my cheeks. I have never had that with mascara before.
Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black - I liked this for every day wear. It gave good volume and length, I can see repurchasing it once I get through a few more of my mascaras in my collection.
Urban Decay Perversion - Didn't really care for this mascara; wasn't bad but wasn't the best either. It didn't live up to its claims. Won't be buying a full size.
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes - These are nice. Again nothing that wowed me too much. If I layer it with the primer of the same line then I can get a really false lash effect, but without the primer it is nothing special.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara - I bought this because there was so much hype around it, not mad that I purchased it, but probably won't repurchase. It still smudged underneath my lash line. I use the wand as a spooly for my eyebrows though and I love that it is tiny enough to work there.

Lastly I have a bit of random bits.
NYC High Definition Liquid Liner - This was all right. I bought it because I wanted something to practice liquid liner with that wasn't going to be too expensive. I found that I like using the liquid liner with the brush tip by NYC a lot better just because it is easier than the felt tip pen.
ELF Matte Lip Color in Natural - Love this, I have a post dedicated to it here. This actually broke and I think it is because my niece was playing with it, but no worries I have already repurchase it!
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Strengthener - Love this stuff. I always have a back up on hand. I prefer the one that is tinted orange, not sure that there is a difference between the colors, but I just prefer it on my natural nail.

So there you have it, lots of hits. Also you may notice that 2 of these products, the mascaras, are from my Project 10 Pan post. I will be doing an update on that real soon so look forward to that!

Just Another Post

Hello people of the internet, I hope you are all doing well. I write to you all today with the window open with the fresh spring breeze coming through. It is one of those days where you feel at peace with the world. The kind of day where you want to actually stop and smell the roses....and tulips and lillys or whatever flower you may fancy. I feel that life just keeps us endlessly moving and to have a day where you can relax and not worry about all the running around of a daily life, well they just don't come along as often as they should. Take advantage of the good days while they are there and with the people you love. Everything can be taken away from you in the matter of a minute, so don't waste any of them.

I don't know where I am going with this so I will end it there. Before I go I think everyone needs to go and enjoy a chocolate fudge pop-tart because I am currently obsessing over them and I can't seem to get enough.

Feeling Stressed

Hey there! So, lately I have been feeling really stressed and overworked. This semester has been one of my worst so far, but not in a way that it is too much work for me, but more in a way that I don't really care for my classes. It could be more my professors that I don't really care for though.

I decided that it would be a good idea to minor in Science instead of just majoring in English so that when I went to look for a job as a teacher I would be more "marketable". It is halfway through the semester and now I feel like I was slightly out of my mind to have made such a decision, especially considering that I haven't taken a science course in over a year. It doesn't help that both of my professors are Physics majors, and sorry to say it, but they are kind of crazy. Not in a fun crazy way wither, the kind of crazy that makes you never want to attend class. However I have attended all my classes and am making my way through the semester with good grades, but it hasn't been easy. The work load is a lot and because I am not fully enjoying the subjects I am studying, it is making it actually feel like work. Last semester was a bunch of English classes with a Psychology class in the mix, it was one of my favorite semesters thus far, but this one is something else.

I don't really know where I am going with this...I just needed to get it out there. If anyone has some good destressing techniques that they would like to share I would love it if they would come my way. Maybe I need a new hobby or something. Reading again is helping, but it just isn't enough for me. Anyone out there got some advice for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Project 10 Pan

Hello Lovelies! Long time no blog and I apologize, but instead of discussing that, let us get right to the makeup, because that is what you really came for! I have selected my products for project 10 pan. I have never attempted anything like this, but when I recently reorganized my makeup I realized how much I had and that it was time to finish some products. I chose products that I have had in my collection for what feels like too long, and that are ready to be gone so I can try more products.

First I have a few concealers that are really close to being done. I have 2 Maybelline Fit Me, I really enjoy these concealers hence having 2 of them. I always recommend this one to people. Next I have Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. It is alright I guess. It has a brightening effect underneath the eyes, but not enough coverage for me. I probably won't be repurchasing this anytime soon. My last concealer is Mac Studio Finish. This is really thick and creamy. I like it on days I am wearing powder foundation because it conceals anything that is on my face really well. I prefer this on my face to under my eyes because it is too thick for me.
Here I have a few eye products. First are the mascaras. Voluminous Carbon Black by Loreal and Lash Potion by Revlon, I don't think I will repurchase either of these 1 because I have enough mascara for a lifetime and 2 because I didn't care for them. Loreal wasn't as impressive as everyone made it seem and the Revlon flakes way too much. But I bought them and they will be finished. I have 2 Rimmel Scandeleyes in nude. I wear this pretty much every time I wear makeup, so it shouldn't be too difficult for me to get through those. Lastly I have a Loreal Color Riche quad in Cupa Joe. I use the darkest color for my brows and create a pretty natural everyday eye with this because it is matte. Actually wearing eye shadow is something new for me so I am excited to see if I can actually finish this!

Lastly I have some face products. The Garnier BB Cream is a bb cream that I enjoy using. It has fairly good coverage and doesn't feel too heavy on my skin. I will probably repurchase this just as soon as I get through the rest of my face products. Next is the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. The packaging on this is completely awful and it is not by choice that I have hit pan on this...I have a ruined makeup bag now, seriously not good for traveling. However the faulty packaging, I will probably repurchase when I am completely done with all my powders. Last I have Mac Mineralized Skin Finish. I used to use this strictly as a setting powder, and one day I decided to use it as a powder foundation. That was probably one of my best makeup decisions. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I am done with my powders. It works so well for my more natural days.
So these are the products that you will see in an empties post soon hopefully. I have decided that 2015 will be the year I don't buy makeup unless I have really good reason to. I have way more than I can ever probably get through, but I will one product at a time! I will probably do a makeup collection post when I get the chance to, so keep an eye out for that.

I encourage everyone to try and clear some of their makeup collection. We spend good money on these products and there is no sense in letting them go bad just sitting in your collection!
